Meet the Victoria Cohort

Australian Circular

Australian Circular’s technology will be able to recycle spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with mixed chemistry using just two steps. The process will recover materials to use as energy storage electrodes and value-added products for diverse sectors. This is achieved through an environmentally friendly and cost-effective method based on pyrolysis and electrodeposition using recyclable reagents.

Blended Capital Pacific

Blended Capital Pacific proposes the establishment of a business serving Pacific Island Countries through distributed off-grid solar infrastructure products and services in a sustainable and scalable way using market-based solutions. The business prioritises the creation of sustainable livelihoods for local communities. The business model is based on a successful ‘hub and spoke’ social enterprise business model. The ambition of the business is to address the susceptibility of Pacific Island countries to natural disasters including climate change and enhance economic and social resilience by employing a market-based model so that communities can access critical and affordable off-grid solar infrastructure and associated products.

Cool Amps

Cool Amps’ concept product utilises battery technology in a refrigerator/freezer appliance with the purpose of providing an alternative source of power during intermittent and prolonged power outages. This will help preserve food stocks during a crisis when there may be a scarcity of food.

Forest Carbon Analytics and Carbon Trading

Agile, reliable and scalable tree canopy assessment and forest carbon offsets accounting and methods using UAV Drone with RGB camera and LiDAR system remote sensing and GIS, growth & yield modelling, biomass- carbon projection modelling and forest carbon estate modelling solution service system and forest carbon offsets exchange.

It offers a reliable forest carbon offsets methodology and forest carbon projects for measuring incremental carbon sequester starting from young forest carbon plantations (i.e. 1 year old plantation) to maturity (e.g. 30 years old plantation) and develop tradable forest carbon estate model for forest carbon trading/ exchange.”

Forever Packaging

Re-using packaging by simplifying and insetivising its re-use and return. The system will take advantage of NFCand RFID tags, smart contracts and existing applications to make the return of packaging profitable and by imposing a small penalty for holding it or for disposing it in the wrong way.

Meatly

Establishing a suburban meat lab (microbrewery style) that produces and provides alternative protein options (clean meat) to conscious consumers. This will eliminate the need to slaughter animals and ship the meat to sell in retail shops.

SEELabs

Providing smart advanced solutions to repurpose the batteries for light vehicles and household applications that mitigates climate change globally by reducing several pollutants like toxic chemicals contained in the batteries that will otherwise end up in landfills or recycling centres and affect the environment and/or public health.
