Network objectives

  • Advance bilateral cooperation and investment, promote trade in green good and services, and potential for new markets
  • Stay informed about current developments and gain an understanding of the EU’s approach to evidence-based climate policy and the implementation of the Paris Agreement through the sharing of experience and expertise through the Network.

Why is this project needed?

The Australian business community has seen a continued growth in interest in increasing trade and investment with Europe in the context of the free trade agreement negotiations. These negotiations provide an excellent opportunity to connect business organisations with strong sustainability interests from both sides of the continent, here in Australia as well as in the European Union.

How will The Network fill this gap?

The European-Australian Climate Business Network provides a perfect opportunity to expand on this growing interest by providing a channel for engagement in sustainability activities for these companies and fostering the sharing of experience and expertise in implementing the goals of the Paris Agreement, as well as support building of momentum, scale and harnessing co-operation.
