Climate KickStarter

The small print

1.Background and introduction

Climate KickStarter provides targeted commercialisation training to climate and clean-tech researchers. The program has been co-designed and developed by Climate-KIC Australia, The Future Batteries Industries CRC and RACE for 2030 CRC. Climate KickStarter focuses on the researcher as an individual and supports them to develop the confidence, knowledge, skills, and ability to identify and understand commercialisation opportunities and processes. The program consists of two courses – Light and Deep Dive.

The shorter Light course is designed as an early exposure point to introduce researchers to commercialisation.

  • 2 x 6-Hour sessions
  • 2 sessions over 1 week
  • Online
  • Sessions include lectures, group work and individual time to apply learnings to research and self. Sessions are shorter and lighter than Deep Dive.

A longer Deep Dive course is designed to equip researchers with the skills to be able to apply their research to the commercial space.

  • 3 x 5-hour sessions
  • 1 x retrospective session with the sponsoring CRC.
  • 1 session per week over 1 month or 6 weeks
  • Sessions include lectures, group work and individual time to apply learnings to research and self
  • Self-directed learning required in-between sessions
  • Short learning deck developed, reviewed, and presented
