We’re proud to release the second Annual Impact Report for the Energy Upgrades for Australian Homes (EUAH) project – a milestone that marks a shift from laying foundations to driving real change in communities across Australia.

EUAH is a national collaboration led by research, government and industry partners. We’re developing tools, evidence and guidance to enable councils and community organisations to deliver energy upgrades that are tailored, scalable, and effective.

Over the past year, EUAH has worked alongside councils, community groups, and industry partners to turn insights into action. Our mission remains clear: enable energy upgrades for 1 million homes by 2030. And the momentum is building.

What’s new in Year 2?

In our second year, we are translating research insights into practical action, laying the foundation for scalable, locally-led energy upgrades across Australia.
  • 10 local teams are participating in our Upgrade Accelerator Program, co-designed with Rewiring Australia, to develop tailored, community-driven upgrade programs.
  • 5 partner programs are testing solutions in diverse contexts, from remote communities in the APY Lands to urban neighbourhoods in Geelong and Western Sydney.
  • 11.3 million homes have been profiled inour Building Stock Model, unlocking data-driven strategies for targeted upgrades.

This year’s report also highlights how local leadership and collaboration are key to scaling impact. By working with councils, community organisations, and industry, we’re creating practical, evidence-based tools that make energy upgrades accessible, affordable, and inclusive.

Where to next?

We’ve advanced our online platform prototype, which will launch in 2026 to give program organisers the tools they need for locally-led, end-to-end program design and delivery.

Together, we can make Australian homes more comfortable, affordable, and climate-ready.
